Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: A survey was circulated to four mailing lists - eprints-uk-user-group@googlegroups.com, eprints-tech@ecs.soton.ac.uk, ORCID-UK@JISCMAIL.AC.UK, UKCORR-DISCUSSION@JISCMAIL.AC.UK Although the target audience was the UK EPrints user community, the survey was open to anyone, so included a number of international responses. A copy of the survey form is included with the dataset. 2. Methods for processing the data: Analysis was taken from the Bristol Online Surveys tool. No further processing was carried out. Data has been redacted as follows: Institution names have been replaced with a country.
